i thought the result was fair reflection on the tournament as a whole. australia didn't deserve to win, as some of their performances were shocking. with the exception of hussey, symonds and lee and perhaps clark and mcgrath, none of the aussies really played anywhere near their potential. england weren't all that more dominant either
i can't understand how kevin pieterson got selected for the super series. he's played like 15 games. surely cairns or jayasuriya or youhana would have been better choices.

Quite a start to the Ashes. McGrath is too good.

Indeed - although England were guilty of some poor bowling. They tried to go for the stumps too much and didn't get it right, giving easy runs on the leg side. However, still really good stuff from Warne, Kasper and (it pains me to say this) Lee.

Fuck that shit. I mean great game an' all, but Jesus. Between that and the Collingwood game, sport would just not stop fucking me over yesterday ;D However, still really good stuff from Warne, Kasper and (it pains me to say this) Lee. I bet it does. He was fantastic though. As was Kaspa. Fuck that would have been an awesome comeback. Screw England.

^Can't tell from that video. Maybe not, but can't blame Bowden for giving it out - any sane umpire would've given it.

Boxing Day Mr Das? I may put in an appearance. Joe said you were shooting for a five-day run. Optimistic. The way things are looking, I'd suggest you strap yourself in for at least one solid day of groundskeeper watching.

Quite some controversy in the England vs Pakistan series. Inzy given out incorrectly (by the third umpire!), Bell claiming a catch that hit the ground, and now an explosion at the ground. Seems like it was just a gas bottle or something exploding, but eventful nonetheless.

pakistan should win this one, and england need to bring another paceman into the team instead of one of their spinners.
the inzi run out was stupid. even to be given out for his leg not being behind the line was iffy as the pics didn't show enough, but with the other ruling it probably shoudl have been denied. i hate it when the bowler throws the ball back at the stumps. its silly and can only hurt the batsmen. maybe the batsmen should just 'accidently' let go of their bats towards the bowlers to even things out a bit.
that bang was sensational. all the police/armed force ran out. at first i thought they were the crowds invading the pitch. think they'll fine the paks? ofcourse afridi's bangs were even more sensational. damn he can hit the ball hard. hope flintoff tries to match him, then we'll have some fun.

Afridi's been banned for 1 Test and 2 ODIs for his little pirouette on the pitch while everyone was preoccupied with the explosion. Inzy was without doubt not out, the law clearly states that if the batsman is out of the crease to avoid danger, he's not out. It'll be interesting to see if Bell gets a ban...he should get something similar to Afridi. When Latif tried something similar he got 5 ODIs.

What did Latif do? Claim a catch that wasn't legal?
That was a hell of a close thing though. Simon Taufel (even though I love love love him) kinda dropped the ball (boom-tish) by not asking the third umpire on that one. Although Yousuf (?) seemed happy enough to walk. Though that may have been because Bell was so adamant about the wicket. Too many layers to this one.
What the fuck was Afridi thinking? Jesus. He doesn't know there tend to be cameras at a Test match? Never mind that, Pietersen saw him, as he demonstrated when they were walking off. Stupid bastard. Fantastic shotmaking though.
Inzy was dicked. Simple as that.
Man, that must be the most talking points to come out of a day of cricket in years.
