[Harley] Curious on your opinions on the Pies year so far.
Do you think we should still go for a win every week despite the finals being as good as gone?
Or....
Do you think we should lay down for the draft picks?
Are you beggining to question your travelling to see them often?
==================================== ==================================== ==================================== ====================================
I don't get your opnion much with footy so it would be cool if you could answer them. It also may get some shit off your chest after flying down to Melbourne often to watch shit.

[Harley] Curious on your opinions on the Pies year so far. Do you think we should still go for a win every week despite the finals being as good as gone? Or.... Do you think we should lay down for the draft picks? Well, Jake Niall made a good suggestion this morning whereby we could still come by the draft picks without appearing to throw in the towel. You've probably already seen the 'coaching for 2005/6' plan; I reckon it's got some merit. Give the injured blokes longer than they need, get the young kids out on the park (they obviously need it, by the look of things). We'll be that much better for it in the years to come. Also the inevitable prime picks from this godforsaken season won't go astray either. However, this quirk of rewarding a team for a shocker of a year has started attracting attention, and you'll get no argument from me if it falls by the wayside. 'Til then, roll on priority picks! I'd still like to finish above Hawthorn though. Are you beggining to question your travelling to see them often? Well, that's inevitable. I hope I pride myself on supporting my team through thick and thin, but I didn't sign up for $300 a pop (I'm guessing) to watch us get beat by Carlton. Ah, well. Such is life. Hopefully I'll be there as soon as possible. I don't get your opnion much with footy so it would be cool if you could answer them. It also may get some shit off your chest after flying down to Melbourne often to watch shit. I didn't know you cared Cheers dude

I sincerley hope we get Priority picks.
I'd rather us get quality draft picks then finish 2nd again and again.
There is this kid called Brett Deledio who is 187cms, has pace, agility, skills on both sides, can find the ball and can play in most positions.
Heres hoping.
Good to know that you have the same feelings on the HFC as me.
DUDS!

Ooh, I wouldn't say my feelings towards Hawthorn are in the same league as yours.
Still, the priority picks appeal to me. The spoon doesn't. Hopefully we can have our cake and eat it too.
Go Pies!! (not too much though)

Yes,
I can take finishing last.
I can also take finishing 2nd last knowing that the Hawks will pick a "Hodge" over a "Judd"/"Ball"!

Hodge has been okay for the Hawks (although granted, not in Judd/Ball's league.
Thoughts on tonite? I thought it was a decent result in terms of what we want to achieve (ie staying as close to the bottom as possible whilst grooming our team for the future). Our kids showed a bit; Richards worked hard, Woey was handy and Johnno was on fire for 3ish quarters.
As long as we keep our standards low this year, the future looks bright.

Our kids showed a bit; Richards worked hard, Woey was handy and Johnno was on fire for 3ish quarters. Out-Classed. Shit umpiring and a doctered loss [Tex on Reiwoldt? Lonie on Kozi? Clement on Gherig? Wakelin on the bench? Swan in the midfield?] God bless Guy and Johnno. Well done Woey and Taz. Guy is doing an amazing job considering he was playing Williamstown reserves this time last year. Johnno will win our Copeland. As long as we keep our standards low this year, the future looks bright. Keeping that posting form up Harls. Never a truer word written. Are you coming dowm this week? We will win.

I will be devistated if we waste our first round pick [hopefully 1/2/3] on an okay player personally. Remember Dids was No.3. He's been okay at best, I think you'll agree. Out-Classed. Shit umpiring and a doctered loss [Tex on Reiwoldt? Lonie on Kozi? Clement on Gherig? Wakelin on the bench? Swan in the midfield?] True. Tex too slow; Lonie too short; Clem did okay on Gehrig until Q4; and we did do our best work when Wakes was on the field. God bless Guy and Johnno. Well done Woey and Taz. Amen. Johnno will win our Copeland. He sure looks the best bet at the moment. Keeping that posting form up Harls. That's the plan dude. I am in da zone. Are you coming dowm this week? We will win. No can do man. Sorry. Thanks to the Hawks inflicting more misery on their bitches, we're now a game clear at the foot of the table. Pole position's getting closer every week. PS what's your stand on the alternate guernsey issue?

Remember Dids was No.3. He's been okay at best, I think you'll agree. I agree. QF/GF V. Brisbane withstanding........... Look at the rest of the players selected in that draft apart from Reiwoldt, Kerr, Coglhun and Petrie. Reiwoldt was untouchable. I don't really rate Kerr ass a damaging enough midfielder to be a No. 3 pick. Petrie doesn't have the talent to be a No. 3 pick. Coghlin makes us look like fools but that is one player. Livingstone was picked after Dids. McDougall was No. 6 pick off the top of my head and I don't rate him at all. Quite simply, It was a poor draft. Unlike the 2001 draft. The difference is that Hodge was picked over Judd, Ball, Polak, Sampi and Dal Santo. The fact is that they had a chice to pick the best youngster in the country from the best draft ever and they fucked it. It looks like this years draft is looking pretty good. I rated last years draft pretty highly and it is said to be stronger than that one. Thanks to the Hawks inflicting more misery on their bitches, we're now a game clear at the foot of the table. Pole position's getting closer every week. Here, Here. Despite the likelyness of us winning this week, I can see them winning as well. Here hoping the Bullies and Carlton will get a win too. PS what's your stand on the alternate guernsey issue? Could not care less. Off the top of my head I would just make us play in the hearatige round top but it just seems like we are trying to make noise over this like everything.

Well.
After going to the match last night w/o listneing to any commentry for the first time in ages I was allowed to actually enjoy that match. This, despite the fact that it was one of the ugliest games ever.
Frankly, being at the bottom of the ladder rocks [for now] cuz you enjoy the wins alot better then you do when your at the top. If this was last year, I would have been sickened with that win!
A huuuuuuuuge positive out of this match would be that going on our form, we wont beat many more!
Hears hoping our form lasts [and Adelaide lift]!

This, despite the fact that it was one of the ugliest games ever. Word. I almost couldn't watch that last quarter; we kept making mistakes and they kept not making us pay for them ;D Umpiring was dire as well. [quote author=Vish link=board=sports&thread=1084349124&start=12#0 date=1085158978A huuuuuuuuge positive out of this match would be that going on our form, we wont beat many more![/quote] Looks that way. Although we were slightly better last nite (Tarrant is god) [quote author=Vish link=board=sports&thread=1084349124&start=12#0 date=1085158978Hears hoping our form lasts [and Adelaide lift]![/quote] Re Adelaide: easier said than done. On last nite's form, they look a basketcase. Forward line was nonexistent (massive kudos to Wakes on Carey; Clem on Johncock for that) and Ricciuto's magnificent disappearing act (thanks Licca), and McLeod largely ineffectual. I tells ya, we got a challenger here

*No one wanted to win it!
*Frankly with Guy rucking and Josh going forward and Buckley AND Burns coming back we have too much class for < 5 wins or a wooden spoon.
Let me be wrong.
*I share the same seniments on your player appraisals, except for missing Johnno[champion] and Guy[great job]
Johnno is Collingwood.
